Join MAG's Board of Trustees and join the cause to free the world of landmines by 2025.
Following a successful event held at Kensington Palace, where Prince Harry pledged his support to the cause and the British government pledged £100m to de-mining, MAG has received unprecedented interest and attention. 2017 is also the year that we are mapping out our ambitious 5 year plan which will guide and lead our work to make sure we have all the impact we can on the lives of people affected by conflict.
2017 is a significant year for MAG and the sector as it marks the twentieth anniversary of three key milestones:
It is not right that after conflicts have ended, ordinary men, women and children continue to live in fear of death or injury from landmines and unexploded ordnance, and cannot rebuild their lives. MAG finds and destroys the debris of war before it finds its next victim and helps to ensure safer management of legal weapons.
Headquartered in Manchester, with anticipated turnover in excess of $75 m in 2017/18, MAG currently employs over 3,000 staff in 22 countries. Since it was founded in 1989, MAG (Mines Advisory Group) has been making the world a safer place.
Trustees are expected to positively contribute to a dynamic and participative Board offering insights to enhance the effectiveness of MAG’s work. In addition, this is a representational role, and all trustees will be asked to act as MAG ambassadors within relevant networks and fora.
Candidates should have a proven record of working at a senior level in the commercial, private, public, humanitarian or development sectors. You will have experience of working with, or on, a dynamic Board and will be confident contributing and constructively challenging the Management Team. We are particularly looking for people who have skills and knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
MAG seeks to have a Board that is enhanced by diversity of all kinds and applications are encouraged from anyone who shares MAG’s values and commitment to improving the lives of communities affected by conflict.
The Board meets four times a year in Manchester, UK and holds an annual Board Away Day. Trustees are invited to participate in sub-committee work and occasional MAG events. Trustees are appointed for up to two terms of three years. Trustees are unpaid and reasonable expenses are reimbursed.

We value diversity at TPP and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
