Irish in Britain is uniquely positioned to facilitate a whole community network and become the leading portal for creative discussion, active partnership and community outcomes.

To help us to achieve our aims and ensure the organisation is effectively managed we need dynamic and inspiring new members to join our Board of Trustees. Your input will help determine the focus and direction of the organisation, enabling it to best serve the Irish voluntary sector in Britain.

Board level experience is desirable but not essential for the role and training will be given. We would be particularly interested to talk to you if you have senior level experience in the following fields:

  • Fundraising/CSR
  • IT
  • Policy

But other skills are also greatly welcomed.

As a member of our Board you will be required to demonstrate a strong commitment to the purpose and development of Irish in Britain and to offer the skills you have towards our common goal. Trustees are collectively responsible for setting the strategic aims and objectives of Irish in Britain and ensuring that proper governance arrangements are in place. The role involves attendance at board meetings (6 per year), and AGM usually held on a Saturday, teleconferences and other occasional meetings as appropriate.
