A leading financial membership body is seeking a Technical Manager to undertake a heavily research focused role around governance, risk and reporting.
The overall purpose of the role is to produce and implement a detailed research strategy on areas relating to management accounting.
-Contribution to delivery of the R&D programme by assisting Technical Specialists in projects related to corporate governance, risk management and corporate reporting.
-Monitor developments in governance, risk and reporting and preparing regular member updates
-Prepare responses to government and other consultations
-Assist in building networks of members to support the R&D plans
-Provide appropriate briefing material and support on governance and reporting issues to the Chief Executive
The ideal candidate will be:
-A qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA etc)
-Experienced in financial reporting in a risk management or governance context
-Have project management experience
-Have an understanding of the accounting sector in general and of professional membership organisations
-Have experience in a role with a research component
The role would best suit somebody with front line private sector experience or regulatory/policy experience in a membership organisation. It is essential that all applicants have a strong background in complex, financial reporting.
