TPP?s client, a national children?s charity are looking to recruit a Team Manager for one of their Children's Homes in East London.
Our client is a well-established charity who has been operational for over 100 years. They are dedicated to changing the lives of vulnerable and hard to reach children and young people and operate an array of services that range from domiciliary care to adoption services. With National reach our client not only provides a broad safety net for recipients of its care but also provides a framework for the diversification of its employee's skills. As a result of this our client can provide both variety in work as well as room for advancement; whether in front line care or management.
The Team Manager job will play a crucial part in the provision of domiciliary services. With a track record of management, the successful candidate can expect to be looking after a large team of support workers (up to 10) while developing new and existing relationships internally and externally. Promotion of the home and its work will be part of the job and an understanding of the challenges that face children and young people is essential.
While our client will be drawn to candidates with direct experience as a Children's home manager, they are open to considering the right candidate looking to move up from a Deputy role. Requirements for any applicant will include excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of management procedures, staff supervision, implementation of new policies (where required) and who can act as an ambassador for the children and young people who use the service. Additionally, while the service will provide care to children with Learning Disabilities and challenging behaviour, applicants with experience in dealing with mainstream care may also be considered.
To qualify for this role you will need to hold an NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent, as well as have demonstrable experience working with children in a domiciliary setting. Evidence of good working practice and the ability to work constructively with partner agencies in the field is essential, as is experience implementing good cost management practice and budgetary control.
