Team Leader (young people service) - Housing & Support Charity
£30,000 per annum
Permanent, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Central Croydon

About the Organisation:
TPP's client is a leading Housing & Support charity in London who provide supported housing for homeless customers with complex needs. They provide solutions to homelessness through shelter, support and advice to over 1500 each year across four London boroughs.

An exciting opportunity has opened up in a service in Central Croydon which provides housing for single homeless young people between the ages of 16-25. The service is made up of a number of parts, including: a supported lodgings scheme, a First Stage Hostel, Second Stage Move-on Accommodation and a Teenage Parents Service.

Also on site is a nursery provision provided and run by The London Early Years Foundation (LEYF).

About the role:
The aim of this role is to assist the Team Manager in providing a high-quality accommodation based support service to single homeless customers, some with complex support needs.

In addition, you will have full responsibility for line managing a designated number of support and service staff as well as holding a complex needs caseload and being a general point of contact for day to day support queries for staff on shift.

Managing the day to day pressures of a busy hostel environment whilst dealing with unforeseen incidents will be a key element in your role.

About you:
As well as having experience of supporting vulnerable people to achieve independent living, you must have a clear understanding of why people become homeless, and the needs and challenges they face.

You will have experience of supporting staff to deliver the highest standards of service delivery to customers. Effectively manage rent arrears and voids to maximise income.

You will have maintained effective relationships with outside agencies including the police, social service and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
