A leading Further and Higher Education organisation are looking to recruit a Further Education Study Skills Tutor, paying £13,851.60 on a permanent basis during school term time (36 weeks).
The role will underpin widening participation and social mobility by providing strategy based support for the organisations increasingly diverse student body, which include students with a wide range of study support needs and specific learning difficulties (SpLDs). Reporting to the Senior Support Tutor, and working closely with Subject Leaders, the post will work with other study skills support tutors on a range of initiatives in support of:- independent learning, progression, achievement and student engagement. The post also has responsibility for the delivery of initiatives support students by delivering mentoring where necessary.
You will deliver an annual programme of face to face study skills workshops and associated online learning resources and deliver appropriate and effective support tuition to students, some of whom may have specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) such as dyslexia and dyspraxia as well as other disabilities.
To be successful in the role you will have experience of teaching at FE level. A degree in an Art & Design, Technology or Communication Media discipline, teaching qualification or professional qualification relevant to working with study support needs or specific learning difficulties would be an advantage.
