Our client is a well-established institute who are recruiting an experienced Student Engagement Manager to manage the development and delivery of high quality student and learning support.
The postholder will manage the student support team, maximise student recruitment, retention and achievement through high quality pre-entry
information and guidance services.
Main duties for the Student Engagement Support Manager include:
Develop and implement a student support lifecycle plan that will ensure the provision of
effective support to students from registration to graduation.
Develop and implement support plans and packages for varying students including
distance learning, blended learning and face to face taught courses.
Develop effective systems for promoting and publicising the support provided by the
student support team.
Develop and implement effective means by which to collect and utilise students' views and
Assist with editing and updating of the content of IRMs learning materials to
ensure usability, accessibility and quality standards are maintained.
Manage relationships with publishers and negotiate competitive rates for permission rights
for electronic resources as well as other learning resources, including text books.
Manage the production and distribution of learning materials ensuring competitive rates are
achieved and agreed service level standards are met.
Manage timely updates to enrolment forms and website content for all qualification and
student related materials.
Lead the development of e-learning strategy ensuring the Institute remains up to
date with technological developments and their application to teaching and learning and
Lead and manage the student support team, communicate agreed organisational objectives
and priorities and agree team objectives.
Plan and deliver effective strategies to assist the student support team in identifying factors
that will lead to improved learning, enhanced retention and student success.
Undertake recruitment, as required, and regularly review and appraise team members to
ensure acceptable performance standards are achieved and maintained.
Finance and budgets
Essential criteria for the Student Engagement Support Manager include:
- Experience in learning design, for face-to-face, online and blended teaching/learning
- Line management experience
- Experience with development in learning management systems such as Blackboard and
- Proven experience of leading learner and student experience teams to deliver successful
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with creative copywriting skills and impeccable
attention to detail.
