A registered charity which provides services and activities for the local Camden Community is order to improve the quality of life for residents of all ages are currently recruiting for a permanent Sports Development Coordinator to manage projects which help young people reach their full potential and make positive life choices.
You will develop an inclusive sports programme across multiple sites in Camden, overseeing different the programme management and delivering targeted sport and physical activity sessions.
You will also deliver accredited programmes for young people leading to Sports Leadership Awards and sports coaching qualifications. As part of this, you will support young people to undertake volunteer placements and help them to access to 1-2-1 assistance and mentoring.
Main responsibilities of the Sports Development Coordinator include:
> To play an active role in delivering sports sessions and to coordinate coaches, instructors and volunteers;
> To work with key partners in the community to increase participation and help more people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to take part in sport and physical activity;
> To work with facilitators to deliver the Sports Leadership Project, working with young people aged 16 to 25 years who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) to achieve an accredited qualification in Sports Leadership;
> To supervise volunteer mentors who provide 1:1 support to young people participating in the Sports Leadership Programme;
> To delivera project to support young people to undertake sports coaching qualifications and volunteer in the community;
> To promote educational attainment, access to training and employment opportunities for young people participating in accredited programmes;
> To undertake relevant administrative duties including attendance registers and processing accredited/recorded outcomes;
> To conduct marketing and outreach in the community, establishing positive relationships with local people;
> To complete regular progress reports in addition to monitoring and evaluation for stakeholders;
> To work directly with groups of young people including regular evenings and weekends;
> To adhere to the Every Child Matters framework and ensure that service delivery meets defined quality standards and performance levels;
> To work within the context of wider Youth Programmes and support development and delivery.
The salary is between £22k-£24k, and this will be a full time role including regular evening and weekend hours.
You must hold or be willing to obtain a valid DBS for this role.
