A national children's charity is currently looking for a Special Events professional to join their busy and vibrant team on a 9 month FTC to cover maternity. You will join the Special Events Department which is responsible for supporting volunteer committees in putting on high-level fundraising events.
You will manage a portfolio of special events of around 12 a year, with four of them classed as big events and the others being more ad hoc. Such events will consist of galas, which will have a specific target audience and a relevant theme. An upcoming event is a gala aimed at media professionals with a Britain's Got Talent theme. Others include a gala aimed towards bankers which features wine tasting. You will take overall management of such events, including securing sponsorship, providing committee support and working with volunteers and stakeholders.
In order to be successful in this role you will have a good track record in managing fundraising events. You will also have excellent relationship building skills to engage internal and external stakeholders. Finally, you will be competent at managing budgets with good numerical and analytical skills.
