Social Care Team Leader
£27,000 per annum
Are you passionate about Social Care but looking to work in a unique environment? Is work/ life balance important to you?
About the charity
Our client was established in the 1980s and they have developed an astounding reputation, nationally and internationally for the community regeneration work they have achieved. They have created a model that works; supporting vulnerable young people, families and adults in the community to develop key skills and confidence. They achieve this by running a huge range of projects across different sites in partnership with other organisations and charities. They work with over 2,000 people each month and each service is tailored to the needs of the whole community. They focus their support projects across these main areas:
• Chronic illness and unhealthy lifestyles
• new skills
• enterprising community
About the role
The Social Care Day Services provide a range of sessions and activities in the center and in the community to a diverse range of vulnerable clients.
The Social Care Team Leader will work alongside the Social Care Manager to run and develop the day services. The growth plans are to deliver more sessions and additional community support to the clients they support. You will work to develop new practice procedures and support the support staff to ensure they are implemented in their daily practice. Although the services are not CQC regulated, a new expectation that through development and mentoring of the staff high standards will be adhered to, to mirror those of CQC. As the Team Leader you will be required to be very approachable, dynamic and be able to delegate and lead by example. You will also help coordinate client skills development, leisure and physical activity sessions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about giving back to the community but also wants professional development. You will need to have experience of direct line management of support workers, personal experience of delivering personalised support and services is also a requirement. As the client group is diverse, our client is asking that you have experience of working with one or two client groups within social care; disabilities, mental health, family support, older people. As mentioned above, although the services are not CQC regulated, a strong understanding of CQC standards will be beneficial to the role along with your ability to develop support plans and risk assessments in line with these standards.
