Job Description - EXPIRED

The Springfield Project is a Birmingham-based charity with a passion for our local community. We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming space in which people from diverse backgrounds can meet and receive support.

The Project developed from St Christopher's Church's commitment to supporting families in the local area and sharing God's love in our community.

We work in partnership with Birmingham City Council to deliver children's centre services providing activities and support for families with children under 5.

We run the Neighbour Scheme, a social prescription project between local GPs and the Springfield Project, working to reduce isolation and improve the mental wellbeing of local adults.

About the Opportunity

Are you a drummer or a singer? Or someone who would like to support a community music session?

We are looking for volunteers to support drumming or singing sessions and lead weekly activities.

The drumming sessions are linked to the Neighbour Scheme, an exciting new project which brings local people together in activities to promote wellbeing. We are working with local GP practices who refer people into our Neighbour Scheme services. Music sessions are a way of improving mental wellbeing.

What are they looking for?

Drumming or other musical ability is important to this role. After a time of settling in you might be leading the group so we need someone who has the confidence to lead. Patience and ability to encourage others are also important.

We have not set a time for this group so can be flexible around the weekly timetable of the volunteer.

Reasonable travel expenses are covered.
