Senior Project Worker - Young Carers Service

TPP Social Care and Housing are currently managing the recruitment process for a Senior Project Worker post for one of the UK's leading children's charities.
Our client provides a range of services for children, young people and their families nationwide, they believe in respecting the worth of every person and encourage people to fulfill their potential.
The service which is currently recruiting is one of our clients Young Carers support service, running across Redbridge and Havering they work to identify and identify interventions in order to support young carers to achieve their personal goals, gain support with their responsibilities and develop relationships with their peers. The service runs 3 main interventions, these being; short term work and referral to external agencies, ongoing activities including mentoring and peer groups and intensive family work.
The Senior Project Worker will be mainly involved with the 3rd intervention; intensive family work where there the successful candidate will hold a case load of young people and their families. There will also be involvement in the 2nd intervention; ongoing activities including mentoring and peer groups. The involvement with this intervention will be mainly around supervising the more junior project workers but will also involve covering some of the activities where needed.
The main duties for this role are to manage a case load of young carers and their families, supervise 4 project workers (the supervision of these project workers will be shared with the manager of the service) and 3 sessional workers. The successful candidate will also be required to work on some of the activities with the young people where required.
This job is ideally suited to an experienced young person and family worker who have worked with this client group in a one to one setting and group setting. Our client positively encourages newly qualified social workers who have worked with young people and families to apply.
In order to apply you must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, knowledge of safeguarding, awareness of factors impacting young carers and their families and have experience in working directly with children, young people and families, including undertaking assessments, plans and reviews.
Working hours are 37hours per week 2 days 9am - 5pm and the other 3 days many vary slightly, there will be an expectation to work an odd Saturday as required by the service.
