The leading promoting scholarship of Muslim cultures and societies, historical as well as contemporary, leading to a better understanding of their relationship with other societies and faiths are looking for an Interim Senior Academic and Student Support Services Manager to take the lead role in the management, operation and enhancement of the department's student and academic administration and realisation of a 'one-stop shop' approach to meeting a growing number of graduate students' pastoral and other non-academic needs and welfare.
This role will be for a minimum of 3months to cover a period of long term absence and will be full time at a salary equivalent to £40k.
The role involves leading, deploying and managing a small team of staff members as well as supporting the academic quality assurance systems in conjunction with the Head of Department, the Course Director of the two graduate programmes, and IIS's partner institutions.
The post holder will be required to use an innovative and effective student data system in order to maximise and enhance services to students and staff across the department.
Essential criteria for the role include:
*Good understanding of legislation governing student administration.
*Understanding of current issues in Higher Education, including QAA and UKBA policies and procedures.
*Degree or an equivalent level of professional experience/education.
*Line management experience within Higher Education student and/or academic administration, including interaction with QAA and UKBA.
*Managing and using student record systems.
*Experience of delivering in-house staff training.
