Part time either 3 days (21 hours) per week or 28hrs per week term time only
£23,000 pro rata
TPP's client; a major national charity for, with and about carers are recruiting in their Barnet branch for a Schools Liaison Officer to work part time identifying young carers.
The purpose of the role is to identify and support more of Barnet's hidden young carers and siblings by working with schools in order to provide integrated support, access to services, to raise awareness of the issues affecting their lives and to improve young carers' health, wellbeing and quality of life.
The above will be achieved by the successful candidate being responsible for the day to day delivery of the BY CAS Schools Liaison Service including facilitating access to activities and services within and beyond our client through referrals and sign posting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with schools in the London Borough of Barnet and raise awareness of young carers and siblings with governors' staff, pupils and students through delivery of tailored Awareness Programmes. The role requires the successful candidate to identify young carers and siblings offering them and their families' appropriate preventative interventions including information and a range of support and guidance and as appropriate introduce the Common Assessment Framework (CAF).
To be considered for this job you will need to have a high level of understanding of the particular needs and difficulties faced by young carers and siblings. Knowledge of care related assessments and support plans, good understanding of statutory and voluntary agencies roles' within education, health and social care.
You will need to have proven experience of working with, and ability to relate to young people and their families, presentation skills that inspire diverse audiences, strong administrative and organisational skills and string report and plan writing skills.
