Residential Support Worker – Life Skills


X2 permanent roles x1 fixed term contract

£17,935 per annum

TPP’s client, a specialist charity supporting children and young people who are visually impaired are seeing 3 residential support workers to join their vibrant and energetic team in Bromley.

About the charity?

Our client, established in 1800’s, exists to stop childhood sigh loss becoming a lifelong disability. They provide an expert blend of education, sport, creative and developmental services across London and the south east in order to support young people who do suffer from sight loss to unleash their potential!

About the role?

Three very exciting jobs have now become available to work within one of their residential homes to support children and young people who attend one of their specialist college’s to achieve! The role is to work on rota to support the students develop their life skills by delivering group activities, 1:1 sessions in a personalised way and generally being part of the team who is responsible for their daily care and safety. You will see amazing outcomes and track their progress along with your manager; adjusting support where required to constantly develop their life skills.

You will work on a rota basis including evenings and weekends, with sleep ins as required (max 2 per week).

About you?

You will be qualified to NVQ level 3 in Care or equivalent and have a good knowledge and understanding of the impact that vision impairment can have on emotional wellbeing. You will also have knowledge of the CQC and other relevant legislation. Most importantly you will have a strong passion to work with young people, be motivated by progress and committed to team work.
