This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to be part of a team of staff providing an outstanding quality service to single homeless people. So do you have strong experience of managing rent and income and advising and supporting customers to manger their finances and understand their financial responsibilities? If so then we are looking for you.
About the role:
To minimise customer rent arrears by implementing the Rental Income Policy and working in a collaborative way with customers supporting them to manage their money and understand their financial responsibilities.
To promote financial stability and inclusion through providing welfare and benefit advice, supporting customers to access the appropriate welfare benefits and manage their finances.
To work closely with the Housing Benefit department to ensure claims, backdates, overpayments and appeals are processed efficiently.
Previous experience of managing rent arrears in a social housing setting.
Experience of supporting vulnerable people to achieve independent living and manage their finances.
A clear understanding of homelessness and the various reasons behind it.
Previous experience of providing basic welfare and debt advice.
Experience of serving legal Notices and completing and attending County Court possession cases.
Experience of working in partnership with multi-agencies to achieve a positive outcome for customers.
