An international NGO focused on helping disabled people in the world’s poorest countries is seeking a talented finance professional for a newly created role as a Programme Finance Officer. The role will be based in Cambridge, with lots of overseas travel. There may be the opportunity to work from home for 1 -2 days per week.
The role will involve:
-Developing an on-going assurance framework for governance and financial controls to manage and mitigate identified risk
-To assist in the development of regular finance reports and to contribute to budget monitoring, the requests for funds process and the preparation of new budgets and project applications
-In conjunction with Internal Audit and Regional Finance Managers to develop due diligence processes for in-country financial assurance of the charity’s supported projects
-To assist in the elaboration of the charity’s budgetary framework
-Prior experience in a similar finance role involving budgeting and reporting
-Proven ability to verbalise, engage, work, collaborate productively with a wide variety of stakeholders to produce quality reports under tight deadlines.
-Experience working in an NGO and understanding of DIFID, Comic Relief funding etc desirable but not essential
-At least part-qualified in a recognised accounting qualification
