A globally recognised professional membership body and awarding organisation based in New Malden, near Wimbledon are recruiting for a full time, permanent Product Development Manager into their newly created Education team.
The Product Development Manager will be responsible for the complete overall global portfolio of examination programmes as well as leading the development of all new programmes, Membership and Training services to drive up the quality of qualifications and assessments whilst generating new revenue streams.
Key areas of responsibility will be to:
Transform global programmes, training and membership services offering
Evaluate current products and approaches in delivering products to market
Evaluate the current HE market for innovative new products and services
Gather and analyse feedback from other departments to understand the product and service requirements and set strategic goals and visions for product development
Work in conjunction with Directors to set product development objectives and targets designed to achieve business objective and agreed targets
Manage the current portfolio of products, review, revise, update and where appropriate delete them.
Plan, oversee and implement research to identify customer/markets needs and support rationale for product development and position within the marketplace to improvement product portfolio and profitability
Manage and develop a product development team to support rapid growth expectations
Manage and control development costs and budgets
Essential criteria for this role include:
Being a world class Product/Training manager with a successful background in relaunching, rationalising and developing new products within an awarding body or FE sector
Having expert knowledge of the policy and regulatory environment underpinning qualifications and assessments and will have a proven track record of successful product/service development in an educational setting
Be able to demonstrate entrepreneurial drive, as well as evidence of meeting and/or exceeding challenging targets for growth and expansion- ideally in developing international markets
Preferably having a minimum of 5years product development experience, ideally within an Awarding/Professional body or academia.
Being commercially aware, ensuring that products can be developed and marketed profitably.
