Job Description - EXPIRED

Orchid exists to save men's lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers through pioneering research and promoting awareness.

Our exciting River Run Event is coming soon and we are currently recruiting volunteers to support our Events Team during the day and join the fun!

This fantastic event will be held on 20th of April and we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers responsible for cheering and supporting the runners helping them to keep going and enjoy their challenge!

About River Run

These two routes start and finish in Paternoster Square in the heart of the City of London, near St Paul’s Cathedral. Both courses take runners down to the River Thames and along Victoria Embankment. At this point the 5k runners cross the river at Waterloo Bridge, whilst the 10k runners go all the way down to Westminster Bridge and run past Big Ben. Both routes take in the beautiful South Bank, where the 5k runners cross back over at the Tate Modern and the 10k runners carry on to Tower Bridge!

About Orchid

Over 43,000 men are diagnosed every year in the UK with testicular, prostate and penile cancer.  Orchid is the UK’s leading charity working in the area of male-specific cancers and provides support to people affected by or interested in these cancers through funding a world-class research programme, awareness and education campaigns and a range of vital support services. These services include Male Cancer Information Nurse Specialists, a freephone National Male Cancer Helpline and a portfolio of publications including a schools resource pack. However, there is still more work to be done and demand for these services is increasing year on year. The charity relies entirely on voluntary income to meet its commitments.
