A large grant making charity is seeking an experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join the Strategic Development Team in a new role and lead on their monitoring and evaluation function. The successful candidate will work closely with the head of department to develop and embed a monitoring and evaluation strategy across all grantmaking programmes leading to evidence based decision making.

Main duties for the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer:
Analyse a broad range of existing grantmaking programmes to identify effective M&E methods
Work with grant teams to embed good practice into grants programmes
Establish robust benchmarking data
Support colleagues to identify relevant grant data for analysis
Gather qualitative data through interview, surveys and other techniques
Monitor, evaluate and report on large volumes of grant data and statistics
Support with gathering and reporting of KPI's
Provide Grants Committees with analysis of programme effectiveness
Present analysis and findings to a range of audiences in various formats
Analyse management information


Essential criteria for the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer:
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Formal training in quantitative and qualitative research methods
Proven track record of collecting, analysing and presenting evaluation data to a high standard
Previous experience of carrying out focus groups, surveys and interviews with service users
Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies and protocols
Understanding of the current M&E trends ideally within a service/grant making charity
Expertise in qualitative research methods
Project planning experience
