Position: Match Coordinator volunteer
Reports to: Matching and Services Coordinator
Time commitment: Approximately 2 days a week, minimum 6 months. We aim to be flexible and meet the needs of the volunteer as much as possible.
Purpose of the position:
We are looking to recruit a Match Coordinator volunteer to support us in the delivery of one of our core services: the skills sharing and mentoring scheme, a service that matches skilled volunteer professionals with small charities in order to help them tackle a particular challenge. The Match Coordinator volunteer will play a central role in the delivery of this service, helping ensure the successful completion of matches and maintain high satisfaction rates of participants.
Similar to an account manager role, the Match Coordinator volunteer will manage a number of matches between charities and their mentors, monitoring matches and supporting both parties as required.
For the right person, this is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the charity sector, gain experience in delivering a key service, and make a difference to the work of hundreds of small charities and their beneficiaries.
*Coordinating matches between small charities and their volunteer supporters. This will involve:
oMaintaining regular contact with charities and supporters via phone and email to monitor match progress
oUsing our CRM database to add progress notes, attach email history, assign tasks and keep records in the database up-to-date
oProviding all-round coordinating support for both parties involved in a match
oDealing with any minor issues that may arise
oAlerting the Matching and Services Coordinator of any more complicated issues that may arise so these can be resolved
oCommunicating with charities and their supporters to bring matches to an end when appropriate and evaluating both users' experience
*Liaising with the Matching and Services Coordinator to ensure the effective delivery of the service as a team
*Attending regular service team meetings to help review and improve the matching service
*Strong communication and customer service skills
*Strong written and verbal skills
*Ability to learn quickly and take initiative
*Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
*An understanding of the issues small charities face
*Experience of using a database to add and edit data and notes (desirable)
*Ability to work in a small team
*Reliability and punctuality
*Personability and empathy for the issues small charities face
