Leasehold Income Services Officer - Fixed Term contract for 6 months
Location: East London
TPP is currently working with a major Housing Association which provides high quality and affordable homes to rent and buy. They operate mainly in Essex and East London and provide a wide range of services.
The main purpose of this role is to provide a high quality and prompt housing management service to the customers and to ensure that Service Charge and Major Works arrears are pursued in order to maximise income.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role will be to respond to queries arising from Major Work invoice. You will need to work with customers from the start of the lease/tenancy to prevent debt from occurring - this will involve giving advice on payment options and negotiating realistic repayment agreements to suit each client's financial circumstance. You will also be working with the Welfare Benefits team, Service Charge team as well as liaising with mortgage lenders, external partners and local authorities.
One important part of the role will require you to manage a complex caseload and instigate legal action as necessary for the recovery of debt. As such you may be required to attend Court to present cases.
The role is full time, 36 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will need to have a minimum of 1 year's experience within Housing, working in a housing association or local authority. You will need to have relevant knowledge of housing legislation, experiencing of reducing arrears and dealing with queries from Major Works. The client is also looking for someone who has worked with Northgate Housing computer package.
