International Development volunteers needed throughout Latin America, Africa and Asia!
Inter-Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE-UK) is an ethical volunteering charity which believes in a world where the sharing of cultures and ideas is embraced, celebrated and lived.
At ICYE-UK, we work in partnership with an international network of locally managed ICYE organisations and partners to provide supported international volunteer opportunities that directly benefit local communities and encourage young people from around the world to live, learn and work together.
We are currently urgently recruiting volunteers who would like to spend 6 or 12 months, supporting local development projects and living with a host family in Latin America, Africa or Asia with a January or August 2017 departure. Projects include promoting human & women’s rights, supporting those with disabilities or affected by HIV and AIDS, education projects, environmental conservation, rehabilitating street children, community development programmes and much more.
Our ethical approach to volunteering means we provide all our volunteers with extensive training both before departure and on-arrival (focusing on inter-cultural awareness and conflict resolution), and continued support & training throughout the volunteering placement. We also invest in each individual volunteer’s personal development, such as providing CV advice at our returned volunteer camps and actively engaging volunteers in the on-going development of the organisation.
As a small charity, we are completely transparent about our all –inclusive programme fee and to help our volunteers raise this, we offer extensive support with fundraising.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to experience development in action, learn a new language and gain fresh, new, exciting skills. No previous experience is required but ICYE UK is keen to find volunteers who would like to experience a true cultural immersion into their host country as well as contribute time and skills to support their host project.
We warmly invite anyone interested in finding out more to come along to one of our monthly information days held in our North London office; We have information days on Saturday September 24th from 11-3pm, Saturday October 22nd from 11-3.30pm and Saturday November 19th from 11-3.30pm
