Housing Support Officer

£26,176 - £29,513 pro rata

22.5 hours per week

TPP are recruiting for a Housing Support Officer to join one of the most established mental health charities in UK.

Our client delivers support services to adults with mental health issues across the Central London area. With a pure focus on mental health they are leaders in their sector and are looking to recruit a positive, enabling and experienced Housing Support Officer to cover maternity leave on a 12month fixed term contract.

The Housing Support officer post is a floating support role supporting 9 clients across 4 supported living housing projects. The job will involve support and guidance around tenancy sustenance, Welfare benefit issues, daily living skills, plans and aspirations and other dependency issues. The successful candidate will be expected to work in partnership with other professionals and the tenants to assess their needs and risks. Through joint working a SMART step-by-step, holistic support plan will be devised in order to meet the identified needs.

The Housing Support officer is responsible for monitoring the tenants progress through weekly support/ key working meetings and that all admin and paper work is kept up to date and accurate and in compliance with policies and procedures.

To be considered for this role the successful candidate will need to have impeccable communication skills both verbal and written, the ability to liaise with other professionals and negotiate to meet the needs of the tenant. A minimum of 2 year's experience working with users of mental health services and experience of housing management with vulnerable clients and key working is essential. Due to the nature of the role, an up to date knowledge and experience of the DSS and housing, health and welfare system is also essential.
