RNLI Heritage is defined as the story of our people and service since 1824. In order to preserve our history, the heritage team collect and care for objects and archives and make these accessible to researchers.
The role of Heritage Research Volunteer offers a fascinating opportunity to join our volunteer research team and explore the history of the RNLI. You will undertake research in the RNLI’s archive and library to assist with a diverse range of both external and internal enquiries. You will be involved in research projects relating to the RNLI’s history using a variety sources, including original records and electronic databases. You will provide clear summaries of your findings using a PC.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is willing to give some time to get to know the library and archive and help us to provide a lively research service. You will be contributing towards raising awareness of the RNLI and supporting saving lives at sea.
