This role is a maternity cover role for one year with one of the UK's largest charities tackling homelessness. This role managed the 8 person media team in proactively generating positive media stories for all areas of the charity. You will lead on creating, implementing and developing a proactive and reactive media strategy to cover issues in the field of homelessness and poor standards of housing. In this role you will lead your media team in supporting all relevant areas of activity, especially fundraising and campaigns, in building positive public support and engagement.
In this role you will be responsible for anaylising the effectiveness of the media strategy as it develops. It is expected that this will be done by collecting and collating data on the most impactful media channels, ensuring the trends are noticed and opportunities are seized. You will also be responsible for all team management responsibilities for the Media team.
Successful applicants for this role will have a track record of high profile media engagement and generating significant media coverage across various platforms. You will be a leader who continuously strives for improving standards. They will be able to consistently produce the highest quality of verbal and written communications. You will be a proactive and collaborative worker, able to build internal and external relationships for the good of the cause.
