This is a very exciting opportunity to lead the direct marketing function at an innovative, forward-thinking national charity. The post-holder of this position will lead both the Direct Marketing and Supporter Care teams while driving a very ambitious yet realistic growth strategy. You will have strategic oversight of all of the charity's acquisition and retention activities, including the development of fulfilling supporter journeys that deepen individual engagement with the organisation, whereby encouraging long-term value.
This is a great time to be joining this organisation. Currently, their direct marketing function is fairly traditional with lots of print and telephone communications. However, as of April 2015, they are planning to increase investment in direct marketing and, as the Head of this function, you will be at the forefront of this, inputting and influencing the strategic use of this investment. This role is split between the charity's Head Office in London and their Direct Marketing Sector Hub in Northampton so you need to be comfortable splitting your time between these two locations.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing an ambitious strategy for Direct Marketing fundraising, working to achieve and surpass key goals in a long-term corporate strategy to develop the charity as a whole
*Managing and monitoring income and expenditure budgets, working to deadlines and targets set by the Director of Fundraising
*Ensuring that all Direct Marketing fundraising is integrated with and optimises key contacts across the charity by liaising with key stakeholders internally, especially in Fundraising and External Affairs
*To move the charity's Direct Marketing function into a new era by developing a strategy which acquires and engages target audiences through digital, print media, social media and telephone.
*Work with the Development Team to implement a formalised supporter journey process
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
*Experience of leading successful individual giving/direct marketing campaigns within the charity sector
*Experience of designing and delivering complex strategies and accompanying budgets
*Experiencing of managing staff of varying levels of seniority
*Ability to analyse, forecast and present financial management information accurately and appropriately
*Ability to manage the performance of teams and individuals, to set objectives, monitor performance and motivate to maximise potential
Salary: £38,234.40 - £45,362.40 (plus £3,299 London weighting)
