TPP Education and Training are proud to be working with the College of Optometrists to recruit their new Head of CPD who will be instrumental in leading the development of the college's CPD provision. They will work closely with internal and external contacts to ensure they remain at the forefront of development and delivery of learning within the optometry profession.
Coming from a similar professional education role; this is an exciting opportunity to make a direct and significant impact to the learning of a specialist profession. You will be part of a small and supportive organisation who are striving to be at the forefront of a change in sector perception of CPD and learning. Reporting to the Director of Education and working closely with other members of the SMT, you will input directly into the development of the next 3 year strategic plan for the organisation as well as be part of an SMT working group who collaboratively drive the college forward on an ongoing basis.
As someone with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, you will work closely across the college's departments to ensure that all initiatives can be related to learning and support colleagues in developing member focused information as well as marketing to and engaging with potential, new, existing and remote members.
You will also present to committees and boards on the progress of development as well as work in close collaboration with regulatory and funding bodies to ensure requirements are met. Having had previous line management experience, you will be managing a small yet dedicated and passionate team, while also liaising with external consultants and providers to develop new and innovative learning resources such as video content, webinars and live event streaming.
Ideally, you will have prior project management experience to maintain a strategic overview while still being actively involved on a day to day basis with individual projects ensuring that internal and external contributors are working to deadlines and budgets. If you have an eye for detail, awareness and understanding of electronic CPD and learning opportunities with a passion and drive to lead and motivate others to commit to a bigger and exciting picture, then this could be the role for you.
You will have to commit to some travel across the UK for events and conferences, not only will this allow you to see your work in action the college will also provide time in lieu along with an excellent range of benefits.
