Are you looking for a new challenge? Perhaps you are a deputy head of a SEN school looking for a chance to run a brand new college or a Principle looking to start a new project and watch it develop?
TPP are working on behalf of a leading national charity committed to helping children and adults with learning disabilities to recruit a Head of College for a brand new college in Camden. The college is looking to open its doors in September 2015 and needs a proactive and strong leader to provide a new vision, ethos and leadership for the college.
The charity has been commissioned to deliver a new specialist provision for young people aged 16 to 25 who have severe and complex needs. The college will provide up to 50 education places together with short breaks residential support within a newly refurbished site in Camden. The further education college and care provision will provide support in preparing young people for adulthood.
This is a new and exciting opportunity to lead from the start, putting in place the staff, curriculum, care provision, ethos and vision for the college.
Programmes will be flexible and individualised, focusing on what young people need to learn to support their transition from school to adulthood, and preparing them for what they want to do next. The curriculum will focus on Health, Employment, Independent Living and Community Inclusion, ensuring each individual who attends the school has a bespoke and stimulating learning experience.
The successful candidate will have the following key skills and attributes:
Recognized teaching and leadership qualification.
Have successful experience of leadership within the education sector
Demonstrate substantial knowledge of working with young people with special educational needs
Be a strategic thinker and credible communicator
