Grants Assistant - Temporary, part-time

Our client a sports charity are seeking an experience grants assistant to join their team on a temporary basis for approximately 3 months; this is a part-time role working 22.5 hours per week.

Responsible for writing detailed update reports to existing Trusts and Foundations. You will work with various internal staff to gather information pertinent to timely application submission. At least 70% of this role will involve writing Trust updates.

Report Writing
-To write fluent and detailed update reports to funders.
-To follow agreed fundraising processes and communicate effectively with Commercial Director and Head of Grants as appropriate.
-To work closely with local Operations Managers, and other internal staff, in obtaining information for update reports.
-To work closely with the Finance team to develop funding updates and budgets.
-To research, identify and approach new Trust prospects where possible.
-To ensure fundraising activities within the team comply with current law and Institute of Fundraising codes.
-To develop and maintain relationships with Street League staff
-To maintain customer relationship data management system in relation to major grants and foundation funding.
-To regularly meet with the Head of Grants to report Trust updates, and where applicable new Trust prospects.

Experience and Achievements
-Experience of writing Trust update reports
-Experience of building relationships with colleagues, trustees and fund administrators
-Experience of operating Grants Management Systems
-Experience in developing and producing successful funding proposals to charitable trusts with a demonstrable ability to synthesise complex information into focused and informed reports
-Experience of financial/budget planning
-Experience of collating case studies and supporting staff in the development of them

Skills and Abilities
-Ability to write to a very high degree of fluency
-Computer literate with experience of MS Office and databases
-Experience of developing budgets
-Ability to effectively plan and prioritise a complex and varied workload and to work to tight deadlines
