A leading Arts charity based in East London is seeking a junior Finance Administrator for a full time permanent role. The role would be best suited to a candidate with some basic experience in a financial processing role looking to further their career in the charity finance sector.
The role will involve:
-Managing the accounts payable, credit cards and expenses for the charity
-Ensuring invoices and expense claims are correctly coded, authorised and entered onto the accounting system.
-Prepare weekly or monthly payment runs for authorisation and entry onto the accounting and bank systems.
-Ensure that prepayments are correctly posted to the accounting system.
-Assist the Financial Controller with the monthly accruals required for the management accounts
-Prepare the accruals file for the annual audit, ensuring the auditors are provided with copies and details of all invoices accrued at the year end.
-Maintain the fixed asset register and files required for tax and audit purposes.
-Ensure that all legal and professional fees are correctly posted to the accounting ledger.
-Issuing of sales invoices via the Triple R (CRM) database.
-Assist with the preparation of papers for external bodies as necessary including: Auditors, taxation authorities for quarterly VAT and PAYE Settlement Agreement and compliance.
-At least one year’s previous experience in a similar administrative role.
-Confident user of IT systems and databases with demonstrable experience in using databases to capture and manage data.
-To have the ability to produce structured and detailed reports using complex Excel data, as well as providing considered and insightful analysis.
-Demonstrable understanding of a purchase ledger / accounts payable function
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good command of the English language and demonstrable ability to produce standard correspondence and other material, and an ability to communicate sometimes complicated information in a clear, friendly and professional manner to a wide variety of stakeholders
-Knowledge and interest in the Arts sector advantageous
