An "Outstanding" primary school specialising in pupils with speech, language and communication needs is recruiting for an experienced Primary SEN Teacher to start in January 2015 or after the February half term on a permanent basis.
They are looking for a teacher to provide high quality teaching to classes with a variety of special educational needs as well as support the school in its overall development.
The school is a non-maintained day and residential service provided by one of the UK's leading Speech, Language and Communication charities.
The right Primary SEN Teacher will be responsible for:
Providing a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum, following the National Curriculum as appropriate and taking account of any other provisions.
Curriculum development and planning and be responsible for a specific curriculum area(s) as directed by the Assistant Headteacher/Lead Teacher.
Learn, use and remain proficient at Paget Gorman Signing (in - house training provided).
Children are aged 5-11years old, and due to the communication difficulties they face, mainstream teachers with EYFS and SEN experience would also be considered for the role.
It is essential that potential candidates for the Primary SEN Teacher Role have:
Qualified teachers with QTS (NQTs are welcome to apply)
Significant special needs experience
Mainstream school experience
Early years experience (nursery or primary)
Communication difficulties areas of expertise: hearing impaired children or autism or learning difficulties
Registered as a teacher in the UK
Willing to undertake a DBS check or have a current and valid DBS.
