A leading STEM based professional body are recruiting for an Education Project Officer to be an instrumental part of the team and the organisation's goal in changing the way science is understood and engaged with by young people from a school level in order for them to see science as relevant to their own cultures and lives.

As someone who has a passion and interest in science and education, with six months to one year's experience of working within the education or science communication sectors in a voluntary or paid capacity you will work on activities which offer young people the opportunity to lead their own science and engineering projects such as British Science Week and a national awards scheme.

You will have experience of working on several projects/tasks in parallel in order to carry out several responsibilities such as administering grants, website and resource development, stakeholder liaison, creating education resource packages, event planning and delivery, budget tracking and maintaining data.

You will have excellent customer service, attention to detail and communication skills as you will be expected to liaise with colleagues across the organisation and its partners.

This is a great role for someone who wants to build on their experience by working on a range of diverse projects and be willing to undertake key admin tasks, as well as take the opportunity to lead on set tasks, for instance there will be an opportunity in this role to be involved in a growing area of education policy work and help to develop a new "Early Years" project.
