This is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious international charity based in Vauxhall as Director of Fundraising and Communications. This is an interim role, providing maternity cover for a period of approximately one year.  In this role you will report to the CEO and lead a small team of fundraising and communications professionals. You will also play a key role in the management of the organisation, working very closely with tight-knit Senior Management Team.

The Fundraising Team covers a well balanced portfolio of activities - there is strong corporate support and employee engagement, a well-established events calendar, and loyal supporter base. There is scope to build on the successes of recent years, and to grow income through Major Donors and Trusts. There is also a desire for the organisation to reach beyond the UK to corporate partners.

The Communications Team is tasked with supporting fundraising activities, promoting the organisation's services and holding responsibility for brand and key messaging. Additionally, late 2016 will see the launch of a new website.

Given the focus on growing income from Major Donors and Trusts/Foundations, it will be highly advantageous for you to have experience in one, or both, of these areas. You will be a confident senior fundraiser with a strong understanding of communications work. You will also be an excellent communicator, possess good commercial acumen, and have experience managing budgets. It is essential that you have prior experience leading teams of staff, but it is not essential for you to have worked at a Director-level previously - therefore, applications from candidates looking to make the move into their first senior-level post are encouraged.
