The Stroke Association is the UK's leading stroke charity. Our vision is for a world where there are fewer strokes and all those touched by stroke get the help they need. Our mission is to prevent strokes and achieve life-after-stroke through providing services, campaigning, education and research.
That is where the Director of External Affairs & Marketing comes in. You will make sure we can achieve our goals by gathering support and momentum through a wide range of strong stakeholder relationships. As we set out our Strategic Plan for 2015 and beyond, your influence will be central to our success. We are seeking an influential leader to develop and inspire an External Affairs department consisting of high performing Marketing, Communications, Policy and Partnerships professionals. Reporting into the Chief Executive, you will play a key role in the growth of the organisation ensuring the Stroke Association continue to meet the needs of those touched by stroke whilst assisting in the creation of a platform for long-term sustainability.
The department is entering a period of change, the successful applicant will be highly enthused by the opportunity this presents.
We are seeking:
*Expert experience across Marketing, Communications and Policy development
*Experience of campaigning/influencing activity at a senior level
*Significant experience of leading cross-functional strategic programmes in large organisations around brand, communications and marketing
*Experience of translating business aspirations into market strategy and audience specific activity
*Ability to deliver marketing insight and recommendations across multiple markets - i.e. fundraising and health and social care
*An outstanding leader who will demonstrate qualities of determination, integrity and resilience.
