This respected university based on the outskirts of London is recruiting for a Development Manager, to work within its growing and ambitious team.  Since 2007, the organisation’s development office has been delivering a highly successful annual giving programme, and this is the second role to be created within a year as part of the university’s strategy to increase income from philanthropic sources.

The Development Manager will play an important role in deepening the prospect portfolio, delivering income from individuals, corporates and trusts either by soliciting gifts personally or co-ordinating solicitation opportunities for others where appropriate.

The Person

  • You will be a target driven, ambitious professional with previous experience of working in a development or fundraising environment
  • You will have the ability to deal with a varied portfolio whilst also building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of internal stakeholders including academics, alumni and donors
  • You will have excellent relationship building skills and will be able to communicate confidently and persuasively with high profile individuals
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and a high standard of personal and work presentation is essential
  • Ideally you will have previous experience of making face to face fundraising asks as well as experience fundraising from trusts and foundations or corporates
