An independent regional charity based in Hampshire specialising in providing direct services to adults and young people on the autistic spectrum are currently recruiting for a Deputy Principal for their Life Skills College which opened it's doors in Sept 2013.
Based in Southampton the aim of the college is to enable 16-25year olds to access specialist programmes on a residential and non- residential basis.
The Deputy Principal will be responsible for the Strategic and Operations Management of the residential unit as well as the college.
The role is for 44weeks of the year and the main purpose of the role will be to:
To provide leadership and operational management for the development and delivery of an outstanding specialist learning provision for young people with Autism
To promote and communicate a coherent and consistent vision regarding the specialist learning provision for the College, the quality of the service and the curriculum based on the core principles of the organisation (e.g APV, SCERTS, PBS)
To act as College nominee in key inspection and assessment activities and to ensure that the College meets and exceeds all regulatory demands and expectations and represents value for money.
To devise ambitious targets which support the operational development of the College and contribute to the overarching strategic plan of the organisation
To Ensure the delivery and implementation of a high quality, responsive and evidence based provision for all learners
To develop new and innovative initiatives to extend the service into the community through e.g. development of work related learning and social enterprise activity and through constructive collaborations and partnerships
To undertake the coordination and analysis of data and information supporting the Quality Assurance Cycle contributing to the College Self-Assessment process and the monitoring of the Quality improvement plan
To line manage the Education team
To represent the College at Senior Level in key partnerships and at organisational level, and to Deputise for the Principal as required
Main areas of responsibility will include:
Leadership and Management
It is essential that the right Deputy Principal has:
QTS/QTLS or equivalent and/or Further Education qualification
Evidence of continuous professional development and up to date regulatory understanding of service role is responsible for
Proven significant & successful leadership, management and organisational track record at a senior level in either Education/Further Education and/or Social Care sector
Strong evidence of business acumen and proven track record of successful strategic planning, service development and growth particularly in relation to areas covered by this role
Strong understanding and proven track record of developing and maintaining a high standard quality service which ultimately is recognised both internally and externally as a Service of Excellence and achieves outstanding external inspection grades accordingly.
Strong understanding of inspection methodology relevant to service and experience of playing key role in external inspection processes for both OfSTED and the CQC
