TPP’s client, a national deafblind charity is seeking to recruit a Deputy Manager for one of their excellent CQC registered residential homes in East London.
Our client has been established for over 50 years, offering services to deafblind people nationally they are a leader in their field. The home that requires a new Deputy Manager has 6 residents who have been sharing a home for quite some time, they are all deafblind and also have a disability. It is a mixed home and encourages each person they support to take an active role in their care and support. They pride themselves in their person centered approach; which is reflected in their CQC reports and in the ongoing staff development they offer which includes specialist training, regular formal and informal staff supervisions and Video Practice.
The Deputy Manager job calls for an individual who can add a new perspective as the staff team have been there for a while, a fresh paid or eyes would help the home to continually deliver an exceptional service. It also calls for someone with tact, patience and understanding who has a good sense of humor.
The Deputy Manager will be expected to work as part of the rota supporting and guiding staff on a daily basis. The job reports into the register manager and the successful candidate will be expected to support the manager to deliver an excellent service to the beneficiaries. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct staff supervisions, manage staff rota’s, contribute to the wider planning and delivery of the service, conduct regular team meetings and maintain a team of appropriately trained staff to meet the individual needs of each individual using the service. Although the Deputy Manager will be expected to work as part of the rota, there will be designated time for all managerial duties.
To be considered for this job the successful candidate will need to have a strong constitution; be a positive role model for staff and credible in their field. Substantial experience of providing support and personal care to adults with a disability within a residential setting is essential along with previous supervisory experience. Ideally the successful candidate will hold an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, however if the candidate can demonstrate exceptional supervisory and management skills then our client is willing to consider their application. The home also has a minibus so someone with a UK driving license would also be desirable.
Further career progression is available with our client along with progression to Level 5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care Diploma and BSL training.
