About the opportunity
We are currently looking for a volunteer to support staff in our crèche sessions at Springfield Children's Centre and our site at Percy Road.
About The Springfield Project
The Springfield Project is a Birmingham-based charity with a passion for our local community. We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming space in which people from diverse backgrounds can meet and receive support.
The Project developed from St Christopher's Church's commitment to supporting families in the local area and sharing God's love in our community.
We work in partnership with Birmingham City Council to deliver children's centre services providing activities and support for families with children under 5.
We run the Neighbour Scheme, a social prescription project between local GPs and the Springfield Project, working to reduce isolation and improve the mental wellbeing of adults referred by their GP or self-referred.
What are they looking for?
We would like an approachable volunteer, with good communication skills. NVQ level 3 in Early Years or childcare is preferable. The role involves setting up sessions, interacting with children and responding to their needs, supporting staff in the general running of the session- including packing away.
NVQ3 in childcare or Early Years is desirable for this role. Previous experience of working with children is essential. There would be some manual handling (picking up children) involved in this role. Being aware of confidentiality is necessary, and you will be supported by the staff team if you have any concerns or queries.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please email Rosalyn Clare at firstname.lastname@example.org saying why you would be a good person for the role, as well as your post code.
