An exciting new charity start-up venture is seeking an experienced, driven and versatile COO with a finance background for a challenging new role.
The charity focuses on providing underprivileged individuals with funding to get started in business. Focused on a micro-finance, bottom up approach, donor's money is matched directly to the individual and the donor will have a direct line of communication to the beneficiary. This direct linking approach is proven to have significant positive impacts effects on the beneficiaries.
The charity was launched only weeks ago, but has quickly gathered momentum and support from government, businesses, other charities, and notable public figures. They now require a self-starting and motivated COO to help build and scale up the charity to reach it's potential.
The successful candidate will have experience in growing a start-up business or charity with a heavy online focus, and will have an extensive background in financial management. The role is highly strategic, focusing on scaling the business in the UK and abroad. The candidate will be expected to improve and implement strategy, manage staff and oversee future hiring, develop the charity's infrastructure and be responsible for all of the organisation's finances. This will include managing cashflow, liaising with the external accountant, administering Gift Aid and communicating with HMRC and the Charities Commission on complex financial issues.
Although no specific accounting qualifications are required, it is imperative that applicants have substantial and demonstrable financial management experience in a comparable environment. A background in a start-up, grass roots charity organisation would be an obvious advantage, though not essential.
This role represents a chance to be at the forefront of an innovative, cutting edge venture with huge potential.
The role will be part-time (4 days per week) and the salary will be £40-44k pro-rata dependent on experience.
