A national leading first aid charity is seeking a Community Development Officer based in Hertfordshire. The charity trains around 400,000 people a year on how to save a life and provides general first aid.
You will deliver the charities community engagement programme to engage members of the community and to develop income. This will be achieved through a high standard of stewardship to key individuals, units and fundraising groups. You will recruit and retain volunteers, with a fundraising focus, advising them on fundraising policies and all legal requirements. Finally, you will develop a calendar of fundraising event activities across the whole region, including coffee mornings to larger scale events.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate confidently to stakeholders of all levels. You will be proactive and be able to work under pressure effectively. You may come from a fundraising, sales or customer service background. Either way, it is important that you can engage with supporters and volunteers. Finally, you will be willing to work irregular hours at odd times and you will have access to a car.
You will receive 25 days holiday a year, generous pension contribution, company expenses card and flexible working hours (including work from home). You can choose which of the many offices you would like to be based at within the London and the South Region.
