A leading special educational needs charity supporting vulnerable people are currently recruiting for a Centre Manager to support the organisation in delivering high quality services for people of all ages, with different levels of need and ability. The organisation is ambitious for the people who benefit from their services and strive to ensure everyone can live the life they choose, irrespective of their ability.
This role is to start as soon as possible and is based in Cricklewood, London. Salary is £47,978 pro rata based on a 12 month maternity contract working 28 hours per week over 4 days.
Main duties and responsibilities for the Centre Manager will include:
Effectively managing and supervising the team in accordance to the organisations policies and procedures.
Communicating and consulting with parents, carers, school professionals, local authorities and other external agencies in a professional manner.
Maintaining full knowledge of all budgetary matters in relation to the centre and take full responsibility for budget preparation and monitoring.
Running staff meetings, in-service training and seeking professional development opportunities for the team.
Liaising with support services including HR, Marketing, Fundraising and the Facilities Manager and providing updated statistics and service reports to the Fundraising and Trust Departments as required.
Leading the strategic development and success of new services and school projects.
Understanding and demonstrating commitment to the development of awareness, uptake, training and use of cognitive methodology within the centre.
Leading safeguarding matters and taking responsibility for all areas around health & safety, risk assessments and building matters related to the centre.
Criteria for the Services Manager include:
Relevant proven experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs.
A good knowledge and understanding of the SEN Code of practice.
Previous experience within a senior management or project management role.
Proven experience in successfully training and supporting staff.
Have knowledge of the Feuerstein methodology.
Working knowledge of the range of strategies and systems used to support pupils with Special Needs in mainstream and special schools.
Qualified Teacher Status (DCFS) or equivalent (HPC) - Occupational Therapist, Educational Psychologist or Speech Therapist.
Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel.
The ability to lead, motivate and support staff successfully.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including observing, listening, sensitivity, diplomacy and respect for cultural diversity.
Proven time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
The ability to use own car for business purposes would be desirable
