The UK's largest provider of health and wellbeing services are now recruiting a Health Promotion Specialist to work within their Youth Education Team, playing a key role in delivering the charity's education programme to young people across Essex.

As part of the team servicing Essex, the role will be home based but you will need to have the ability to travel regularly throughout the whole of Essex, working in the community. There is also an office base in Essex as an option.

This is a part time (21 hours per week), fixed term contract until end of March 2023. The full time salary is £25846.

As the Health Promotion Specialist, you will support the delivery of outreach health promotion and behaviour change communication interventions, appropriate to the needs of key target communities of young people aged 13-24. Working with young people on a one to one basis and in small groups is paramount to the role. The education programmes are focussed on improved sexual health outcomes, healthy relationships and consent.

You will also play a key part in the research and arrangement of events and interventions, both with professionals, community groups, young people within education settings and other vulnerable service users.

To be considered you will have experience of working in schools, colleges or with young people's organisations. You will have direct experience of working one to one with young people and have a knowledge or willing to learn the law, guidance and safeguarding issues relating to advice and treatment offered to those under 18. Having your own car and licence with the ability to work flexibly will also be important. Knowledge of sexual health education for young people would be an advantage.

In turn, the charity can offer you a hybrid approach to home working and working out into the community, along with an excellent opportunity to develop your skills working with young people.
