Our staff and volunteers have been saving lives at sea without prejudice for nearly 200 years. We respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within our teams, and consider it essential to help us deliver a world-class lifesaving service. We are an inclusive organisation and welcome applications from everyone. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, we also look for applicants who share our commitment to living our RNLI values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping us work towards our goals of halving drowning in the UK and Ireland by 2024. This involves a growing commitment to preventative action, using our expertise to work in partnership with communities locally, nationally and internationally to prevent drowning.
The RNLI has a network of local fundraising branches organising a wide range of activities and events which last year raised £14 million to save lives at sea. Each Branch and Guild is supported by a Community Fundraising Manager, although the range and frequency of fundraising events is determined by the members themselves.
Getting involved with this activity could offer you an opportunity to improve your CV, meet new people, learn new skills or just have fun with helping the fundraisers in your community. Some of our branch members have been volunteering for many years, some just join us for a few months – whatever their commitments allow.
Our Bookham and Leatherhead fundraising team is currently looking for a motivated volunteer to keep its branch website up to date with news of activities and branch affairs. The website has recently been updated by students at NESCOT. You will be required to work with their HTML code but this will only require minor changes working with what is in place.
As a Volunteer Website Manager you should enjoy collating information and photographs and inserting the required changes into the website. This exciting and role can be varied to suit you if you already have or would like to develop these skills and training can be provided as necessary.
This is a great and unusual opportunity to really make a difference by helping us to raise vital funds for our volunteer crew members and lifeguards and awareness of what they do.
This is a volunteer opportunity within the RNLI. RNLI volunteers are people who, unpaid and of their own free will, contribute their time, energy and skills to support the purposes of the RNLI. RNLI volunteers may perform a variety of tasks and duties, under direction and guidance, using their skills, knowledge and time to help the RNLI best achieve its objectives.
We respect and honour our volunteers by building trust and understanding. Such a partnership is not intended to be a legally binding contract or to have mutuality of obligation, but instead express a voluntary two-way commitment where everyone gains satisfaction from being part of our organisation.

We value diversity at TPP and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
