Chickenshed is a theatre company based in Southgate, North London, and with a branch in Kensington and Chelsea. The company's vision is a society that enables everyone to flourish, and Chickenshed's mission is to create entertaining and outstanding theatre that celebrates diversity and inspires positive change.

For over 40 years Chickenshed has pioneered an inclusive performance methodology. As well as offering over 250 performances per year at our purpose-built theatre, Chickenshed is also an educational establishment delivering BTEC, Foundation Degree and BA courses. With huge Children's Theatre and Youth Theatre membership schemes for 5 - 21 year olds and an ongoing programme of outreach projects working with some of the hardest to reach communities, Chickenshed is truly 'Theatre Changing Lives'.

Our many volunteers are involved across the organisation and they make an enormously important contribution to Chickenshed's work.

General Requirements

To operate within Chickenshed policies and procedures, including health and safety, equal opportunities, confidentiality and safeguarding policies

It is hoped that Arts Practitioners will be committed to practically accessing advice, support and training in Chickenshed's inclusive theatre method and will therefore take full advantage of the training opportunities.

Times and Commitment

Facilitating our workshops can be an inspiring and rewarding experience when relationships are allowed to develop over time. It is our hope that Arts Practitioners will recognise that they can change and enrich the lives of the children and young people with consistent attendance at weekly sessions during term time.

It is generally helpful to both sides if you can commit to a term (average of 10 - 12 weeks).

The workshops take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:45 onwards at the Wharf Rooms, Imperial Road SW10 2GA, and at Oxford Gardens Primary School on Monday evenings: Oxford Gardens, London W10 6NF

The CKC office is located at Unit 309A, Harbour Yard, Chelsea Harbour, London, SW10 0XD.
