“I helped raise awareness of the RNLI at a world renowned sporting event!”
Whether you are looking to improve your CV, meet new people, learn new skills or just have some fun volunteering, this is a fantastic opportunity to support the RNLI’s life saving work by representing the RNLI as a volunteer steward and supporting our runners at one of our largest fundraising events – the Morrisons Great North Run in Newcastle on 11th September 2016.
We are looking for enthusiastic people to volunteer as RNLI Stewarding Team Members at this exciting event. As a Volunteer RNLI Steward you could be involved in escorting our brave runners from the race finish in South Shields to the South Shields Lifeguard Unit, which is approximately a 15 minute walk. Or - if you are feeling less energetic - you can assist at the race reception, talking to runners and ensuring that the event runs smoothly. The choice is yours and you can assist in both roles throughout the day if you wish! You will be kitted out with an RNLI t-shirt and information to support all the runners in the Great North Run.
It’s a fantastic day out - if you haven’t seen the Great North Run live before, now is your chance to soak up the atmosphere and help the RNLI at the same time.
You do not need to have any prior knowledge or involvement with the RNLI, just a willingness to help us ensure our runners receive the support they deserve. It’s a wonderful day to get involved!
