MayDay Fundraiser- Do your bit, fund our kit!

MaydDay MaydDay MaydDay! We’re searching for people who would like to support our MaydDay Campaign and help us to raise money for our volunteer Crew kit. By volunteering to fundraise this May, you will be doing your bit to help us raise £750,000 to go towards funding vital kit that will protect our crews and help them return safely to shore.

May Day 2017 runs between 1st and 31St May. Whether you have a little or a lot of time to give then this could be for you. There are many ideas to get involved and we’ll help you every step of the way. Welly related themes can often be fun, eye catching and related to the theme – some ideas to start you off:

  • Welly-Lympics – sports day- challenge events,  Welly races, Welly walks, Welly Zumbathon
  • Welly night in- organise a Welly themed evening with your friends
  • Welly  event in your workplace, Club or University
  • Wear your Wellies to work or University
  • Welly Collection or Welly badge sales in your local area
  • Welly Treasure hunt
  • Welly Challenge yourself to something you’ve always wanted to do.
  • Break a Welly World Record – ie Welly Wanging, walk, stomp or conga

The list is endless and can be something you do in a group or on your own! If you’re interested in joining our Fundraising Crew to do something as part of a team for Mayday, then please let us know.

Mayday is the RNLI’s national fundraising and awareness campaign and runs throughout the whole of May. Our volunteer lifeboat crews are on call 24hours a day, every day, to help save lives and prevent tragedies at sea. They have to be ready to act at a moment’s notice, battling heavy seas and treacherous weather conditions- putting themselves at risk every time they respond to a call for help.

The RNLI is a charity- 95% of our total income comes from donations. We are separate from the Coastguard and independent from the Government, so we couldn’t do what we do without the generosity and support of people like you. Together we can save even more lives at sea.
