Would you like to make a difference? In homelessness, poverty, civil rights, mental health, addiction, disability, and working with people who are marginalized, excluded and isolated?
People have lost their lives, jobs, businesses, homes, and many people are struggling, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We anticipate that as lockdowns ease, there will be a new pandemic of various issues relating to mental health, loneliness, emotional and psychological issues, and individuals trying to rebuild their lives.
However, chaos and disorder creates possibilities and opportunities, and out of possibilities and opportunities comes change.
Qultura is a small, empathy-based community located on London, focusing on mysticism, development of consciousness, creativity, culture, art, and the performing arts. Currently all our volunteering roles are online due to COVID-19, with opportunities to eventually engage in community projects.
We are recruiting for Marketing Leads to help spread the Qultura name, however, it is important to emphasise the flexibility we believe in. You can develop the role and put in as many or as few hours as you wish. Some examples of activities you could undertake may include:
- Creating, managing and updating social media pages and reaching out to individuals who may be interested in volunteering with us.
- Getting in touch with universities students unions, as we believe the concept of volunteering at Qultura will particularly appeal to students who are trying to find their purpose.
- Reaching out to any influencers who may be interested in collaborating with us.
- Attending volunteering fairs and events
Plus any other strategies you can think of that would help us grow our community of volunteers. You can also change roles, create new roles and engage with other roles that we will soon be recruiting; Resource, Project Development, Content Creation and Admin Leads. After developing a core team, we will start recruiting general community volunteers whom will not have specific roles, but rather we want them to discover their place in Qultura, by fostering a culture of collaboration.
We are looking for people who can share insight and perspectives on life. Can other people be comfortable around you? Can you be trusted? What is your story? Can you inspire others to feel good about themselves? Can you take initiative and come up with new ideas?
We believe that the three most important attributes demonstrated by volunteers should be willingness, competence and enjoyment.
The roles come down to making things possible and making things happen. It's about encouraging people to be themselves, to like themselves, and to seek out opportunities to be connected to others.
There are no rules, policies or procedures to follow, but we are committed to encouraging and developing human individuality, human creativity, human empathy, and human diversity. We try different things to see what works and what doesn't. We are creative. We explore. We experiment. We make things up as we go along.
Communication will take place through a community message board, a WhatsApp group and via Zoom meetings, once we have a sufficient number of volunteers on-board.
