The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide, on call, a 24 hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service. With our lifeboats, lifeguards, safety messages and flood rescue we are committed to saving more lives.
The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in New Brighton is looking for a volunteer to join the existing team in the role of Lifeboat Press Officer
New Brighton has a remarkable history of bravery with 48 awards for gallantry by volunteer crew members. The Lifeboat Crew are all volunteers, headed up by the Lifeboat Operations Manager and Deputy Launching Authorities and supported by a Shore Crew team. The wider team includes volunteer fundraisers, shop volunteers and youth education presenters.
The role of the Lifeboat Press Officer is to build and maintain friendly relationships with local press, radio, television and online media, keeping the community informed of informed of operational activity, promote newsworthy rescues and lifeboat station events, using a variety of channels, such as email, phone, or social media, using photos and video where possible.
This is a good opportunity to join a motivated and enthusiastic local team and have the satisfaction of contributing to saving lives at sea.
If you have good communication, writing and IT skills this could be the role for you.
