The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide, on call, a 24 hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland, and a seasonal lifeguard service. With our lifeboats, lifeguards, safety messages and flood rescue we are committed to saving more lives.
The RNLI’s Lifeboat Station in Morecambe is looking for a volunteer to join the existing team in the role of Lifeboat Administrative Officer.
Morecambe is celebrating 50 years as a lifeboat station and has already been presented with 11 awards for gallantry. The first RNLI rescue hovercraft was placed on service in 2002 and Morecambe is now one of only four stations operating a hovercraft alongside an inshore (ILB) lifeboat. The Lifeboat Crew are all volunteers, headed up by the Lifeboat Operations Manager and Deputy Launching Authorities and supported by a Shore Crew team. The wider team includes volunteer fundraisers, shop volunteers and youth education presenters.
The role of the Lifeboat Administrative Officer is to record notes of operational team meetings, to record minutes of Lifeboat Management Group meetings and to be the primary contact point on general administrative matters of interest to the lifeboat station.

If you have good communication, organisation and IT skills and a knowledge of or willingness to learn about the local station this could be the role for you.
